Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, in Lynn Massachusetts. She was the first child born to Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. When she was young the carnival barker father passed away and left her mother without a choice other than to become a cleaner lady and waitress in order to feed the family. Ruth lived in the tenement area of poverty of Boston, Massachusetts, where she attended school. The school she attended within two years of her education in order to pursue acting as a profession. Her chosen path proved to be strewn with obstacles such as In New York, she obtained a job posing for stills in a magazine for crime However, the stage was not a match for her. In New York, she volunteered at a bar, as an entry-point girl, before quitting before moving to Boston. The New England Repertory Company was the first position she held as an actor who was steady. Earned money doing shifts during the day, in the ushering department. She earned a bachelor's diploma in drama from Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
