Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN and is the SportsCenter anchor for news. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins has been bi-lingual since nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with producers of National programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Her next job was as an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she was a news reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo, an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime in which she was provided with a job. Still a senior at high school, but with a clear idea what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta was able to visit her local University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her needs. In the end, she loved the campus and that they had the degree she was searching for. When she finished high school, she decided to attend the University with a major in media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her professor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor at WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. He was the one who boosted her confidence and whose passion for journalism deeply touched her. In turn, she determined to meet his demands, never letting him down.
